As an interpreted language, Python runs a bit slower than a compiled language like C++. This is due to the fact that NZBGet is written in C++ while SABnzbd uses Python. In other words, it uses far fewer resources, making it the perfect choice for older laptops, Raspberry PI rigs, and any other devices on which RAM and CPU speeds are in short supply. Not only does it offer the same cross-platform functionality that SABnzbd offers, but it also runs much lighter than SABnzbd. While SABnzbd remains the most popular choice by number of users, NZBGet is the rising star. SABnzbd for a full comparison of the two downloaders. If you have not already chosen your software, be sure to see NZBGet vs. On the other hand, it also offers a number of advanced features that improve upon SABnzbd. New users generally have no issue feeling their way through the process of installing and setting up the software. In the tradition of SABnzbd, it runs in the user's browser offering a slick, minimalist interface that is remarkably easy to get the hang of. NZBGet is the latest and greatest in NZB downloaders. I've run a few tests and I see that I get 12MB/s writes and 34MB/s reads. From performance hacks to full automation. I'm running off a 32GB Lexar Class 10 microsd that I had in my Pi, where it worked fine, but I don't know how to test if that's the limiting factor. I've gone through a lot of their performance tips as well. I know the speeds will be faster with NZBGET if I'm able to configure it properly, but I'm stuck with things to try. I've been watching the resources with htop and the CPU isn't getting pinned or anything. I have the temp files going to an external drive, then copying to my NAS afterwards. In the meantime, I've setup sabnzb and have it running at 5-6MB/s (without SSL), and it will be fine until it starts to decompress the files where it drops to under 1MB/s. Anybody who has this setup, are there any switches I need to use while compiling to get good speeds on a C1? Or, do you have any tips you can give me? This is just downloading 1 sample NZB, so it's not due to unpacking at the same time. I've tried writing the temporary files locally, to an external drive, and do a drive over LAN and the same issue happens everytime. NZBGET is supposed to be faster, which true for about a minute, where I get 8MB/s, but it starts slowing down to 200KB/s after 30-60s. I've been trying to replace my SABNZB + Sonarr setup that's on my PC with one setup on an ODROID-C1, but I've run into some issues.
